Good Friday

10th April 2009 - Today Phyliss was running a fever as high as 38.5... Immediately gave her paracetamol and woke my hubby up to bring her to KKH. I told my husband that even if the doc did not suggest Phyliss to be admitted, i would request her to be admitted for observation. Every night, she has not being sleeping well and her cough seems to be worsen. Every night, I do not know what i can do to help to ease her discomfort. At least if she is admitted, there are doctors and nurses that can help me. At home, i only will panic and worried.

After registered at KKH, we waited for our turn. As usual, the doc checked her lungs to hear if there is any whizzing sound. Luckily, her lungs are cleared, so is her throat. No infected, nothing. But once the doc heard that Phyliss has a spike fever, she told us that Phyliss has to be admitted for observation. She suspected that Phyliss could hv developed whooping cough. Did some research online and found that this is a contagious diease adn if not treated in time will lead to death ...

"Also called: Pertussis
Whooping cough is an infectious bacterial disease that causes uncontrollable coughing. The name comes from the noise you make when you take a breath after you cough. You may have choking spells or may cough so hard that you vomit.
Anyone can get whooping cough, but it is more common in infants and children. It's especially dangerous in infants. The coughing spells can be so bad that it is hard for infants to eat, drink or breathe.
Before there was a vaccine, whooping cough was one of the most common childhood diseases and a major cause of childhood deaths in the U.S. There are fewer cases today because there are both pertussis-only vaccines and combination vaccines for tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis. If you have whooping cough, treatment with antibiotics may help if given early.
"

Doc instructed us to bring her for chest x-ray, luckily turn out fine. As doc was not sure if Phyliss has a case of whooping cough, therefore she has to stay in a isolation room, meaning she cannot leave the room at all. So depress again... Why does this has to happen to her? She is only such a small baby ... why do i hv to go thru this again? First time was Phoebe, now Phyliss. :(

Doc came, took her blood sample for test, came in again to take her mucus for test, came in AGAIN and brought her to the treatment room to suck out her phlegm for test. Tomorrow, doc is coming in to test her eyes discharge for test. Damn! So many test to run ... and yet, no answer for me...

Doc said as today is public holiday and weekend follow next, the sample can only be tested on Monday, meaning we hv to stay in this isloation over the weekend. I cannot see Phoebe for the next few days. I miss her so much!

I hope that everything will get over quick! Seems like it is not such a Good Friday for me afterall... :(

1st Blog for Year 2009!!

Hello my friends! I know! I know! Alot of my friends have been asking me to update my blog, but I am just too busy with my life, not forgetting that I have another little one to take care of! :) Let me update one by one ...

1) I HAVE A NEW YEAR BABY!!! My little angel (2nd angel actually .. keke) was born EXACTLY 01-01-2009 00:00 in KK Hospital. Her name is
Phyliss Lau Rui En, 刘瑞恩. She was on the news, TV and even radio! Because of her, daddy and mummy are now famous pple ... only for that 1 week. Hahaha ... better than nothing! Never in my life would I imagine that I will have this opportunity to be on TV, news and radio! Hahahaha ...

2) My 2nd angel is now 3 months plus. She is very active and adorable and cute and pretty and ... ok ok ... better stop now before you guys say that I am so "how lian" ... kekeke

3) Phoebe is now attending Child Care, to free up the afternoon time so that my mother-inlaw can take care of Phyliss.

Below are the pics of my 2nd angel - Phyliss ... Enjoy!

Well, before I gave birth, I heard alot of tales about how the older one will be jealous of the younger baby and will bully the younger one. But thankfully, Phoebe loves her sister so much that she will not allow anyone to carry her out of our house! Hahaha ... Everyday when she comes back from school, she will want to sayang her sister. Good sister! :D

I am so relief that she loves her sister so much! :) A few pics of Phoebe ...

Sad to say, Phoebe and Phyliss are down with virus. First was Phoebe. She had fever (which was as high as 40 degree) and had to insert the medi thru her backside. Then also she has constipation, which the doc has again to insert the medi - "fleet" thru her backside. Then she was on the gas mask. When I saw her going through all these procedures, my heart was tearing apart! I rather that all the knives and needles were on me, so as to replace all those scary things that Phoebe has to go thru. Below are the pics that I had taken in the clinic while waiting for her to poo poo after the doc insert the medi ...

Saturday, Phyliss also caught the virus. What to do? Doc said that as long as they all staying under the same roof, they sure catch the virus. It first started with my father-inlaw, then Phoebe, then mother-inlaw and now Phyliss.

These 2 nights I did not catch much wink as I do not dare to sleep. Phyliss was coughing so badly that I was so scare! This was the 1st time that she has been coughing so hard and so bad. Everytime she cough, it was so hard that she farted. You may find it funny, but not to me. Cause it means that if she did not recover fast enough, she might injure her small tiny lungs and even have bronchitis. Doc wanted me to monitor if she develops any fever or vomit. If those symptoms appear, have to bring her back to the clinic immediately. Sign .... I feel so helpless ... There is nothing I can do for her ... Every night I see her cough and cough, I almost cry. She is so tiny, so fragile. As her mother, I am suppose to protect her, yet all i can do is to see her cough and do nothing about it. I really hate it!

The below pics are taken before Phoebe went to see the doc. She was getting frasturated and restless and super cracky. In order to distract her, I decided to take pics of her while feeding 妹妹... talking about multi-tasking! Hahahaha ... :D

New Arrival Before New Year??

This question has been on my mind recently. Why? Because this little princess is so different from the 1st one. Recently, i feel tired easily (too easily) and she has been pressing on my bladder (dun remember this happen to my 1st pregnancy wor) and also she is pressing on my pelvis, making it very aching and my bum too! Not sure is it a sign that she is waiting eagerly to come into this beautiful world to play with her 姐姐?

Anyway, here are some pics up-date of my girl. She is growing so beautifully each and everyday, with the blessing of our gracious LORD. Seeing her growing up each day, healthy and happy is what a parent can even wish for!

<Isn't she such a cutie? Hahaha ... :D

This is her most recent single pic ...

But not the latest as she has already cut her hair. Well, will try to get her latest look soon! (as long as she stays still in front of the camera! kekeke ... )

With mummy ....

My favourite pic of the year! Isn't this scene so heart-warming .... so sweet!

Learning to speak

My my ... its been so long since mummy updated little princess blog! Ok, for a start, let me update on her development.

1) She learns to speak a few new words - Push, Close, Please, Thank You, Spicy, Juice
2) She has learn to identify different part of her body - Hair, Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, Teeth, Stomach
3) She has learn to identify different pple - Ah Ma, Ah Gong, Ah Pek, Ah Mm, Ah Yee, Gor Gor, Jie Jie, Daddy, Mummy, Dog Dog
4) She has learn to make the different sound between dog and cat

Did I miss out anything? Hahahah ... actually princess has grown up so much! Think its a matter of time before she blah out all her words!

Currently, we are trying to potty-train her. Not sure if this is the correct age, but I do think that she is sensible enough to go toilet. For now, she knows how to tell us when she wants to piss piss or mmm mmm ... kekeke ... just that she still doesn't want to go toilet. Anybody can advise me on this? Wish to stop her from wearing day diapers. At least can save alot of diaper $$ for my new-born! wahahaha ... :D

Also, my princess loves to take pictures so much! Now whenever whoever brings out a camera or hp, she will immediately strike a pose and wait for u to take her pictures! Not only that, she still want to QA her pictures! hahaha ... such a cutie! But but ... she prefers to take the picture along ... whenever I tried to take it with her, she will always not co-operate with me and give me those funny faces! Dun believe me? Take a look ...

Pose 1 - Strike a pose with the sofa

Pose 2 - Warming up to strike another cute pose

Pose 3 - Strike a model cute innocent pose

Now its time with mummy ...

Why is mummy forcing me to take picture with her??!!

I PROTEST!!!!

After seeing the evidence, do you believe me now?? =(

Anway, one fine night, we decided to go shopping in Tampines Giant. We went to the bread counter and princess was so excited and keep pointing to the Mickey Mouse bread. As usual, the doting father will buy one for her ... but princess stated to scream and shouted and cried!! All because she wanted to eat the bread immediately! OMG! In the end, we have to make the purchase and open the bread for her to eat. Then she quiet down. Think it is time to disciplined her! Must teach her how to be patience ... But when she ate the bread, she was just so plain adorable. Take a look ...

Mmmmm ... This is so nice ... Chocolate flavor! My favorite! =D

Look @ my mouth mummy!!

She was so cute! All the while, she did not even bite on the bread ... what she did was to open the bread in half and started licking the cream inside the bread! That is how she got the mess all over her mouth! wahahaha ...

Children will forever be so naive and innocent and adorable. Hopefully she will remain like this forever! But I know it will not be because the society will gradually change her perspective towards her surrounding ... So sad ... =(

Fabulous Weekend Getaway!

Where shall i start ... Ok ... first, princess is going to have a 妹妹. Now hubby is searching feverish for a name for our new baby princess. I am so touched. Why? Because he is assuring me that no matter what is the gender of our baby, he still loves them very much. But i feel so guilty. I feel that I have disappointed him once again. But like my hubby said, can always try for the 3rd one .... OMG!!!

Yesterday night, he was searching through the website for a name, matching to our princes no. 1, Phoebe. He found Phedru (which both of us doesn't knw how to pronounce), Persis (which we think very unique and nice), Phyliss (we both like this name too, means bright or shinning ... forget liao) ... anyway, we still have alot of time to search for a nice nice name for our princess no. 2! :D

Anyway, last weekend, we organise a weekend getaway for my MIL, mainly because she is flying off to States this coming Friday. So hubby suggested that we shall spend some quality time together. So I booked a room at Sentosa Siloso Beach Resort and we LOVVVVEEEEE it!

It has 2 floors. 1st floor is the bedroom with a view to die for ... and 2nd floor is a sun-tanning area and a jacuzzi area ... which i fill it up and play with princess in the evening. The view is also magnificence!

Now for the video ...

Strong wind on our departure morning

A tour in the 1st floor bedroom

During this trip, we notice something very unusual. Normally, kids would love to go to the beach and play with the sea-water and sand. We always can see an image of father and mother with the kids building sand-castle together ... playing together. But my princess is not doing all these! Instead, once she stepped onto the sand, she refused to move! hahahaha ... she just stand very still and hold on tightly to daddy's t-shirt and her expression is so pathetic! :D She hates the sand getting on her feet. Then we have to carry her up to the land and wash her feet with sea-water. So, we tried to let her wear shoes and brought her down again. At least she was ok with it. We thought, finally she is learning to accept the sand. But we were too optimistic... Once she feel that her shoes has sand, she fuss again .... wahahaha .... so, my hubby and I decided that from now on, no more beaches for princess until she has grow up and learn to accept sand like any other kids. It was so funny to see princess behaving like that ... especially her expression.

At night, our brother-inlaw and his wife (Davide and Yuki) came over to join us for dinner. So nice of them to come all the way to Sentosa to meet up with us. We had a fantastic dinner (kindly sponspered by MIL) but it was very expensive. So that place was being banned by the whole family ... But sorry, I cannot revealed the name of the restaurant here. Kekekeke .. :D

We love this place very much ... Luckily it only started to rain when we check-out. Will definitely come back again!
